Clinical reports and records required for Independent Medical Examinations should be sent securely in a digital format through an online portal or by password protected USB or CD-ROM at least two weeks prior to the IME date.

REQUESTS FOR RECORDS:

The BC College of Physicians and Surgeons require treating physicians to keep clinical records for 16 years from the date of last patient contact.  After that date, records will be securely destroyed in a manner consistent with legislative requirements.

There will usually be a charge for copies of records based on the Doctors of BC fee schedule.

 

TO REQUEST CLINICAL RECORDS FOR PATIENTS SEEN AFTER AUGUST 15, 2015:

The records of MSP patients seen by Dr. Travlos, Anton, and Hirsch after August 15 2015 will be securely and confidentially stored by MedRecords, a BC based company offering health record storage that meets all relevant requirements for secure storage.
